How much is the allotment rent?

Firstly there are Additional Fees
  • There will be a one-off charge of £30.00 for you to enter into a tenancy agreement with the council.
  •  The site keys require a £20 refundable deposit to be paid to the council. (Refundable at the end of your tenancy on the production of a receipt.)
  • Membership to the allotment association that provide certain facilities on site along with insurance, social events and affiliation to the National Society of Allotment & Leisure Gardeners costs £10 per year and is paid directly to the allotment association. 
  • As of 1 April 2022, the Council's rent for a plot has increased to £0.36 per square metre including water.
  • Plots vary in size; an average plot works out between £45 and £90 per annum
  • You will be entitled to a 50% concession if you are over 60 or in receipt of certain benefits.
At the moment there is a waiting list but don't be put off as there are a whole host of reasons why people vacate plots and not all sites have as many on the waiting list.
